Been lurking for sometime and now I need a little help. Looking to go to directv with 2 HD-DVR's. Currently with Dishnetwork with a 622 receiver.

Anybody done the same thing?Have regrets?

Any pro's or con's with the HD-DVR from Direct vs the 622 from Dish?

HR21-100 vs HR21-700? Differences?

My delema is the company I work for is giving the employee's a 40% discount on programming through Directv. I have Dishnetwork and have really enjoyed the 622 receiver. I have read alot of complaints about Directv HD-DVR. So I am a little concerned about not being happy.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I moved from E* to D* and I only have 2 plasma tv's so I too got 2 HD DVR HR21's. I have no regrets. You may want to know that with D* you have to have 2 lines running to each HD DVR in order for the dual tuner to work. With E* this is not necessary. D* does have a new technology called SWM which works around this but good luck getting it. If not, they can run 2 add'l lines to each dvr unless your setup won't allow it. With the HR21 I was worried, but I have no issues with it once you get used to it. I like the fact that it has a screen saver. Others have complained about the remote response being slow. It is a bit slower but since I turned off "scrolling effects" it doesn't seem bad at all. If you have any questions, PM me.

I think the biggest part of it is that your just used to having Dish. You know the system and are comfortable with it. I have friends that love Dish and would never switch. I am a Directv fan and always will be. Their service is far superior and once you get their system installed and get used to it, you will wonder why you didn't switch years ago. Make the switch, you won't regret it.
