The NY stations with dish are on spotbeam
There are some on CONUS (whole US) but those are ONLY for RV'ers/truck drivers who submit the necessary paperwork

I recall at least one other Delaware resident attempted to "move" to NY, and he was out of the spot beam. Surprised DTV's spots reach that far considering the frequency.

Directv's NY & LA big 4 are CONUS......they can do distants without much restriction
(and they just use the same channels for both NYC subs and distants....)

I got the NYC channels from the spotbeam i guess then, Because i had them all 2,4,5,7,9,11 and a bunch of others... I have friends who live around 20 miles south of me and they get them too... Hence why i asked if you could with Dish also...

I decided after trying to get the local channels I wanted to go for what you suggested which was the OTA antenna. I decided to buy an Antennas Direct Clearstream 2. I can receive most of the Dayton OH channels but sometimes I lose a signal from some of the stations, which I can tolerate. Thank you guys for all the suggestions!
