is 70% signal a good enough signal to get a spotbeam on bhm alabama from "moving" i would do anything to get these locals the signal is more in the mid 70s

are you positive its the Birmingham spotbeam?

and yes 70 is good enough but when storms hit the signal will probably go bye bye

yeah I see them on TP28....confused me for a bit as the chart I have doesnt label the channel as the callsign rather the 1st 2 letters of the town then the channel so I was looking for the callsign and the chart shows "BI6" as example

yeah 101 TP28

i wonder y its hard to receive them then ? When I tried getting them before all but one channel in the BHM DMA was kinda like what you would get from loss of signal on a digital OTA signal

Directv's spotbeam are very tight....they have a ton of spotbeams on 101

They're not like Dish who has a 3 state spotbeam. Heck some of the new spotbeams on 119 that are designated for Missouri I can get in Minnesota

hmmm well do u think I may be able to get those locals on dish network then ? I can get nashville tenn from where I am with both dish and directv btw this is the SD feed not HD

it says i have 3 sats 119 110 i think and 101 but the dish is kinda small but i think it has 3 lnbs and how would i go about doing this

ok you've got the Phase III dish. I have the same one

How many receivers?

110 isnt used anymore and 119 only has Spanish channels and some locals. So technically you could get by with just a dish at 101W....Heck the HD dishes only see 99/101/103 (99 & 103 are HD)

Once I know how many receivers (dvr and regular) then I can explain how to set it all up :)

Well then thats easy :)

All you'd do is find a bigger dish (I'd go with a 30") and a regular DBS LNB and aim it at 101.
If you have a DVR run both lines from the LNB to the receiver
