Hi Guy's,
I have a HR20-700 that has worked great :)

This morning I cannot get my locals channel 11.1 and 13.1
24.1 and 36.1 come in fine.
zip 43560.

I re ran the OTA antenna set up... twice.

According to my Pioneer Elite TV, my OTA SS is 84 + on all the OTA channels, so I know the antenna is pointed correctly.

Interestingly enough, if I go to the sub channels, .2 and .3 I get the picture fine.

Never had problems with my OTA's before thru the rec. and the channels thru the TV tuner come in fine.

Also, these channels all came in fine before the change over as well as after the change over, till this morning.

Any thoughts ?

Some of the channels probably don't have the correct data in the database from Tribune, with the digital transition this isn't unusual. You need to give it a day or so to see if they can sort it out.

Even though they were fine till this morning ?

I will do that, as well as check a freinds OTA situation later today.

Thanks texasbrit !

stations may have moved their transmitter site

your stations may have moved their transmitter site

local stations here are telling everyone that you may need to aim antenna in another direction and rescan your tv's or convert box because DTV transmitters sites of some stations will be moving after the analog shutoff.

The TOWERS didn't MOVE ????

I have tried moving the antenna all over the known area that I would expect a signal.
Sometimes I can get a better signal while bouncing the signal, no luck so far.

I guess as a last resort, I could always order them from D* although I don't want to.
Remember, the channels are there because my Pioneer TV picks them up fine.

Welcome to my world

You are experiencing events similar to mine here in Lansing, MI. My H-20's would not give me any signal strength at all until I did a total reset and then an initial antenna setup, including downloading the guide for my ZIP code and then scanning for signals. Bingo, there they were with signal strength of 100!

I Emailed the local Chief Engineer here at channel 11 and he was kind enough to explain that, part of the problem is that the two channels in question in my situation have gone back to the VHF frequencies.

He also mentioned that both the Tribune and D* was informed along time ago about this change and that he WILL send the info to them again.

So D* and the Tribune comp. will be re informed of the info as soon as he can send the info to them.

He mentioned something that I am not aware of .
He mentioned that the PID was not being sent correctly, I am not farmiliar with this term, any one know what it means ?

Also wonder if D* and the Trib have to input this info in for each rec model .... The H20 in the other room gets all the channels fine, but the HR20-700 doesn't.
I checked my connections, even ran the antenna directly into the HR20-700 and re scanned and rebooted and no change.

The H20 scans for channels and does not rely on a database so is not seeing a problem. All the DVRs rely on the Tribune database, and it looks as though this might not have been updated. But if the station is sending the wrong data this will cause the DVRs problems even if the Tribune data is correct.

I have 2 H-20's. Living room passed the grade, bedroom didn't.I have both hooked to antenna in attic.I am still playing with the bedroom rec.,reset after reset.Channels will show in antenna setup.but when I go to add/delet in guide some are missing. Some channels even have the wrong call letters. Each time I reset it seems I get something diff in channels.

Just curious, why do DVRs have to use a database?

I lost 27-2 OTA (RTN now RTV) . I get it when I hook the antenna directly to my TV but not when I hook it to the back of my Directv Receiver so it didn't change to VHF . It seems Directv needs to do something to fix it.

Mainly because the DVR relies on the database in order to be able to record. The theory is that scanning for a channel when there is no data is useless because the DVR can't set up a recording. There could have been other ways to do it but it's what DirecTV decided to do.

Need Expert Help, Please

To make a long story short, I'm having trouble finding a zip code that has channel 57-1 in it. I've tried so many but no luck.

Is there a list that's available to the public?

For some reason, it disappeared on me about a week and a half ago or so.

Thank you so much, Joe
