Local HD without OTA antenna

I live in the NY area, I'm going to purchase an hd10-250, will i be able to get any local channels in HD without the OTA antenna? I'm getting mixed messages from customer service at D*. Thanks

I shouldn't jump in on this since I live no where near you, but I have heard multiple times from people in the NYC area that a set-top antenna like the Zenith Silver Sensor will get ALL the local channels in the NYC area. Of course, this will be affected by tall buildings, hills, walls, etc.

But you WILL need SOME sort of antenna to get any OTA at all.
