How did you get it to do that? load the 5000 list into the 8000
I did the exact same thing (swapped out a 5000 for a 8000)...you might want to load the newest software into it
just some tips
-satellite list in 8000 is old...satellites are there but they have names like GE5,GE3,G6 etc so you will have to rename them
-If you rescan anything in it resets the channel list..I think I explained this to you in a PM...I think (couple folks asked me)....simple way to solve is to go to sort and flip to "network", save it, then go back and sort by "tp"...it will sort them by satellite then transponder (I'll explain below)
-I set up the satellites (31 of them) from E to W with 123 as 1 (so its on top)....then I went 61.5,72,74,79,82,83,85,87,89,91K,91D,93,95,97,99,101,103,105,
107.3,110,111.1,113,116.8,119,121,127,129K,129D,148 and 31 is my fixed C-Band...works pretty good
I know folks think I'm crazy for moving from a blind scan box to a non-blind scan but being able to hear PBS through the HDMI cable (and record if need be) is pretty sweet
As for the channel list, mine shows after the sort as
G10 11720
G10 11732
G10 11799
G10 whatever that TP is that has those arabic channels
G10 12102
G10 12114
then
61.5 whatever TP's have free things
72 11890 (KFTL)
72 (HD FEED)
72 12052
72 12143 (GBN)
74 11733 (ONN)
79 11900 (KTEL)
etc
etc
etc
