I sort of asked this question on the tail end of another thread. But, I think it mihgt get lost there.

I have assembled my dish, and want to get the LNB in the best position. I believe I am right in that the skew should be 0 because I am using a motor. However, how do I know what the distance should be from the lnb to the dish? The LNB can move closer/farther within its bracket. Also, the bracket can move closer/farther down the arm.

I would think that this distance is important for the signal to focus correctly on the LNB.

since you are using a motor, it is skewed at 0

I've always had my LNB as far back as you can from the dish. MY dish has only one hole so I can't move the holder.
