My large Channel Master dish is located on an island where all the DTV folks gets Miami stations. Except me. I have the basic, brand new DTV box. I cannot use the triple LNB that came with the dish though it will pick up DTV basic. No one can answer my question there.

I get the message 771 as I recall (I am not there right now to see it) for local programming...I get the channel logos but no picture or sound...just searching for satelite. I am only picking up satelite 110 when in months past I got 119 as well. I go to settings and set for the single LNB...and then tune it...but only get this one satelite. No others.

Do I need a new LNB? This is about 10 years old...every one else has the same type lnb...what do I need to get so I do this right?

Thanks...and I am a little DTV savvy, but not that much. Only out of necessity do I figure some of this out...otherwise I am ignorant so don't cut my head off:)

Wish you would have posted this 2 weeks ago - I just returned from visiting many of the islands down that way. For starters, make sure that you subscribe to the locals then I think you may need to check your signal strength - may have gotten a little out of alignment in one of the storms. Second, check to see which of your neighbors (using DTV too) are getting which sats and which transponders. Not sure which bird you are on for locals. Use a digital camera to snap screen shots of theirs so you don't need to write everything down to compare with yours later.

You sure that your LOS is still clear? Things can grow pretty rapidly down there partially blocking your LOS.

Post or PM me when you get back. Could be a bad LNB, but probably a few more things to check before spending any $ on it yet.

Thanks

My LOS is great. The local "guru" got us lined up well...and my 110 signal strength is pretty good. I just cannot get the 119 satelite to even show up as a choice---and it used to. Everyone else has the same kind of single LNB on their DTV and Dish rigs.

As a photographer (duh) you'd think I'd take screen shots easy enough...my blond roots are showing even though I'm brunette.

I do have a couple of zeros on each transponder...but we balanced the signal strength on the pointing according to my local "guru"....then he came up blank on the rest. I paid him his 6 pack of Bud and he was done.

The LNB has been through 3 hurricanes and has been outside nonstop for 10 years...it could be ailing.

Thanks
Michele

Go back through the box set-up and make sure you do not have single LNB selected. Need dual or multi selected in order to "see" dual sats. If that's not the issue, clean the lenses on the LNB - check all connections for tightness, corrosion or water intrusion.

If all this is OK, at that point I'd look at replacing the LNB - at 3 big blows and 10 years in that environment you certainly got your money's worth out of it!

What island?

LNB

Thanks again;

The setup is on single LNB; the connector is newly replaced and the box worked in the States getting everything on the triple LNB and dish. This LNB used to get the 119 and the 110 and subscription if for all locals out of Miami...and their banner's are there.

I think I've gotten all I can get out of this LNB and a replacement is the next step...sides a friend can use it on her hurricane mess of a dish where the LNB is in another time zone, if I can't use it.

Thanks from the Beautiful By Nature land:hatsoff:
