I ended up making one wiht fiberglass epoxy, thickened with some quartz microspheres. I cleaned up the acme rod, put on some mold release, and then applied the thickened epoxy. I let it cure, then removed the "nut". I then cleaned it up and epoxyed it into the tube. The hardest part was making sure is was lined up straight.
One other thing. The fiberglass nut was too close in tolerence. It was too tight. This could be loosened up a bit by putting valve grinding compound on the rod and running the nut up and down for a bit to 'grind' down the threads a bit.
Bottom line, it's back together and working fine.
