Line of Sight

I complained about my line of sight when I posted that I got my system up and running. I thought I would upload some pictures to show everybody. I was dark when I got home, sorry. The first picture is blurry, but it shows my Northern sky which is pretty good. The second picture shows my dish aimed at IA5, and the Southern sky. I can't get anything East of 83, and I can't get SatMex5 or G10, but I do get Ku on most of the others.

Much better than mine. I am planning to move in a couple of years, and will have several hundred feet to the nearest tree. The ground at the nearest tree will be 20-30 feet below the new house. Then I should be able see as many sats as you.

Ok, so I'm finally up and running. I did all sorts of adjustments and tweaking with the motor and I'm doin alright....well..sort of ok.

I get 74 west through 101 west. Anything out of that longitude range is blocked by my damn mango tree and the neighbors trees.


So...the question to ask. Am I missing out on much?

Plus, a little trouble with Montana PBS. I'll keep playin with it while I'm not watching the game on KUIL Fox 64.

I did some more adjustments. I definitely get from 72 degrees to at least 107 or so. More to come. I'm afraid to mount the motor elswhere cause the line of sight changes in each place I think to move the thing. We shall see.

Galaxy 10 is at 123w, PLENTY of quality FTA there. Also, IA-7 at 129w has White Springs TV (old movies). Nothing good on Ku west of 129w.
