My boss was looking for a new TV for her office that she could mount on her wall, and since I am the company gadget guy she asked me to find her something good.

Not knowing much about Plasma and LCD TV's I did a lot of research and boiled it down to a few models. After I did this I went and actually saw the televisions and fell in LOVE with the LG 32LX1D LCD TV!

It had all the features we were looking for including Cablecard support and a wide array of inputs, IEEE 1394, HDMI, DVI PC input and more.

After seeing this I wanted one, and it was on sale at Circuit City. I told the sales guy I wanted one and he went to his computer and told me this TV was out of stock for 3 or 4 weeks.

I was disapointed and I was going to go search for who had this TV, then I remembered Robert from ValueElectronics offered us a great deal on the LG TV's here, so I called him up.

Robert was very easy to deal with I told him what I wanted and he named me a price including our special SatelliteGuys Discount. This price was MUCH lower then the Circuit City price and INCLUDED shipping!

Anyways the TV came in and alls that I can say is WOW!

The picture on this LCD TV is the best picture I have EVER seen from a LCD Monitor and its nice and bright too, which is very important because of all the windows in the office.

It also had a few more features that I was not expecting including a build in memory card reader so I could view photos from my digital camera on the screen. And these photos LOOKED GREAT! It also allowed me to listen to music off my memory card as well!

I don't care much for the built in TV Guide it has, just because it is slow to populate.

The rest of the settings in TV were a snap for me to setup. I am use to the menus as my Zenith 32 Inch HDTV in my bedroom are the same. (LG makes ZENITH sets now) :)

I dont have cable TV in my office so to get a signal I used a PAPER CLIP in the antenna jack and did a channel scan. I was AMAZED to pull in 18 channels some of which were Digital Channels. I was able to view HD programming off of some soap opera on CBS. :) The picture looks GREAT I am really shocked at how good this TV looks.

My sons TV in his room died the other day. (It was a 27" RCA that we had for YEARS (It was RCA's first model that had picture and picture built in!) I am thinking of giving him my Zenith and want one of these baby's instead. :)

Thanks goes out to Robert at ValueElectronics for the quick service, excellent price and for going out of the way for SatelliteGuys members.

I didn't know that about LG making Zenith now. Interesting.

I love the ol' paperclip as a poor man's antenna... :)

LG, or Lucky Goldstar (yes, THAT Goldstar) has owned the Zenith brand for about 10 years. A few years ago, LG decided to phase out the Zenith name on AV equipment, so now you have LG HDTVs instead of Zenith HDTVs.

One issue I have with LCD flat panels for the home is what Scott was praising: High light output. Unforunately, it comes at the expense of black level, or should I say, dark blue-gray level? I have yet to find one that doesn't "glow" in a darkened environment, like a bedroom at night. I'm waiting for affordable LED-backlit LCD panels as the best bet for that, but if NEC's price ($6.5K for 21") for their new LED-lit LCD is any indication, it may be a while...

Scott admitted he watched a Soap Opera...and he liked it too. :D Anyway, my parents recently purchased a comparable Samsung LCD. They saved a couple hundred dollars, but the set has less features. Also, I had an opportunity to evaluate both sets the LG LCDs are much better IMO. I would certainly recommend this set for someone who is under space/size constraints and will be placing it is a brightly lighted area. It's too bad I didn't remember the Satelliteguys discount. :no

I don't see any LG LCDs on the ValueElectronics site, just Toshibas.

I have 34" Toshiba CRT HD monitor, and it's been good enough, but it's a huge, heavy box. I wouldn't mind replacing it with the same size screen, but all the LCDs are either 32"(-2) or 37"(+3). In my setting, the Toshiba's speakers are under the screen, which I like since it doesn't add a lot to the width of the TV. The Toshibas that ValueElectronics sell have a similar configuration. Where are the speakers on the LG?
