Decided this morning to DVR it off Starz (recording as I type) to watch it, probably Friday night... A classic like that (IMO) shouldn't have been remade in any manner, but I'll watch it with an open mind and see if I enjoy it...The latest Ghostbusters, mildly entertaining...
I think it is a minimum 2 timer to absorb it all.Arrival
First 20-25 minutes is a slow-burn, then things get interesting...weird, but interesting... Wouldn't peg it in my top 20 sci-fi movies list though...
Exact same thing I thought after finishing it...gonna have watch again to really "get it" all...I think it is a minimum 2 timer to absorb it all.
Then you have spared me from agony. I recorded last night as well. Delete!Watched Ghostbusters (2016) last night.
What a disaster of a movie! The cameo's from the surviving original cast members were mildly amusing, but honestly, I feel asleep towards the end, woke up as the credits were rolling, backed it up to the last part I recalled seeing...well that was 20 minutes before the credits started! So I watched the last 20 minutes and deleted it from my DVR.
I could go into all I didn't like, but that list is far longer than the list of what I did like. What did I like: far better CGI and the cameo's. Beyond that, honestly, not much...
"Thor" was just an annoying character in it, we had just watched In the Heart of the Sea with him in it off one of the premiums, it wasn't bad...
