Well you might take them out of the UPS see what happen.
I guess it's about time to fire up a packet sniffer and a port scanner and see what's going on.Aug 10 14:07:17 [Pepper-FVS338] [kernel] LAN2WAN[ACCEPT] IN=LAN OUT=WAN SRC=10.0.10.12 DST=63.246.23.135 PROTO=TCP SPT=2289 DPT=80

He said that he had them connected to a UPS, but wanted to try them without so he took them out. Sometimes I wonder if you even read the full posts before responding.
Does anyone else find the new text on top of the guide very annoying? I'm referring to the alternating between date/time and "Press Guide to go to All HD". This may be very nitpicky, but I often glance up to see the time while I'm browsing the guide and now I often glance up and see a message telling me what happens when I press the Guide button. I already know what happens when I press Guide and have known for years. I just want to know what time it is!
"Has anyone tried using a web browser or port-scanned their unit yet? It would neat if you could just web right into your receiver to schedule shows. (Then you could setup remote access to the web interface through your home router.) Even if there wasn't a scheduling interface, at least you could remotely delete shows, something you likely can't do once dishonline.com goes completely live."
I thought about that feature too. Probably it isn't enabled yet but it might be coming. I'm at work so can't test it.

anyone tried it?
It seems to me then that it would be fair game to give them a call and see what happens. I know, I know, we are supposed to wait till the 15th, but someone should be a guinea pig and see what happens when you call about it.:I also find it amusing that one of the screensaver messages gives the number to call to activate external hard drives, not noting that users should wait til next week. Typical Echostar communication skills!
