L.A. Locals off of Conus?????

Well I lost my L.A. Locals from Dishtv along with everyone else,since they are spot beaming everything as of today.....
I would love to get my L.A. Locals back,but with Directv you need a L.A. phone number with the line hooked up to the receiver....
And Direct tv will not sell you the locals ONLY like dishtv used too.....
Unless you good people can tell me a way?????Thanks for yeaaaa time,I do hate the locals that I do have now lol........JohnnyT

hmm i dont know if you can still get them but maybe if you raise fit about it, defiantly would need to speak to a few supervisors
it all depends upon how bad directv want your business i guess give them a call
and ask for customer retention.
when you call you dont wanna give your nyc addy you wanna give your timbuktu addy
call them and post back your results

Yea know thats what I did with Dishtv,Iceberg knows lol....
Maybe I will give it a shot since I do have a few Directv receivers,,,,I willl havea aunt {whatever her name is and what ever address she lives at}
But think that they will not turn in the Directv receiver unless that there is a Telephone line connected from the L.A. area to it...
Dishtv was good because they did not care if you had a phone line connected ,but they charged yea another $6.00 a month,but who cares if you enjoy what yea watching....

no need for a phone line on DirecTV either unless you want to order via remote/be billed via modem.

but DIrecTV wont let you have just the locals. You need a basic package as a new sub

Hummmm then I would buy the cheapest package then........
I still have my Directv antenna still on my roof and receivers...
Thats why I went to Dishtv because yeaaaa needed not to buy a package of programming like Directv.............JT

I just called Directv up and they said I don't need a phone line hooked up to get service,its only for PPV.......
Just wondering are MOST the L.A. Stations are on CONUS or are they spot beamed???
Then I can give my 120 year old grand mothers address lol.But ratter just pay for the locals and not a package,will need to think paying Over $350 a year is worth it.At least with Dishtv I was paying less the $150 a year for locals.......JohnnyT

I have Dish Network and have never had a phone line attached to them even once in the last 8 years.

If you want Distant locals move to Southwestern West Virginia and DirecTV will be more than happy to provide them to you... legaly..... and you can keep the big 4 from New York as well. If you also have Dish you can get WPIX, WWOR and KTLA as well.

I dont recieve channel 9 KCAL with my DNS package from DirecTV so I wonder why yhey would put KCAL on a national spot beam. Seems like a waste of space.

Because D* ran out of space on the LA spotbeam, so since it was ONLY 1 channel, they just have it on a CONUS beam.

They did the same thing with a local Chicago spanish channel, but when they started using some of the Indianapolis beam for a couple Chicago locals, they moved it off CONUS.
