I'm not a fan of the Kung-Fu channel and would love to swap it back for Guy TV.

But once in while, I do check it out. Of late, most of the movies have had English sub-titles. As I frequently "watch" TV while using a laptop, and thus don't give many movies my full attention, I rely upon hearing the dialog to stay engaged with the movie.

So I find these sub-titled movies to be essentially unwatchable, unless they are a superb movie.

I've watched a number of movies with sub-titles over the years, in theaters, from DVDs, etc. Some great foreign flicks. But I find it next to impossible to watch a kung fu movie with subtitles.

Tom,

in my opinion, there is no better way (with subtitles) to watch a foreign movie (of a language I can't speak or understand). I suggest you to stop doing work on the laptop and start watching the movie and you will enjoy it a little bit more :). To ask any provider to dub the sound is just worse.

As I said before, I have watched many foreign language movies with sub-titles. As I type this, I'm watching "The Beast" which has sub-titles (although the "Russians" speak in English ... very strange), giving it about 95% of my attention (and I have watched it before).

But I don't find the Kung Fu movies to be interesting enough to do so. I would be bored stiff if I tried to give them my sole attention. Frankly, I have a hard time watching most of them even in English. I'm not going to watch any of them with sub-titles.

Hmm. I'm of the opposite opinion. I find the dubbed dialogues laughably bad and just plain distracting, rendering a movie unwatchable.

Subtitles for me, please.
