It's encrypted
My wife used to watch KISB before it was encrypted with VIACCESS. Once in a while they remove the encryption for some reason but it only stays unencrypted for a few days. TAN TV also encrypted with VIACCESS shortly after KISB did which forced her to subscribe to the programming. If you want to subscribe to either service be sure to get a receiver that is ready to accept that VIACCESS smart card the programmer provides. Common Interface (CI) slot equipped receivers require a Conditional Access Module (CAM) matching the type of encryption used in order to accept the programmer's smart card. CAMs cost close to $100 if you can find a dealer that has any.
