JVC HM-DSR100RU receiver end of life?

I am using the above-mentioned receiver (based, I believe on the 5000 model). I've read a lot of discussion about planned changes in signal modulation/compression/encoding even for SD signals and wondered if/when my 5000 would become obsolete and unable to decode some or all programs?

The upshot being if Dish was going to make this system useless in the near future, I'd like them to upgrade me at some preferred rate if not free.

Probably won't change SD until after the HD channels are all converted. Posts on here say around 3/2007

So far I think the only receivers that were removed from service was the original 2000 model and that was because it couldn't use the new smart card.
