I have been kinda researching the Coolsat 4000 pro for about a week now, but i havent seen anything about which dishes are better or worse. I want something like an 18" dish that i can pick up mult satellites with(motorized). If i want to pick up mult satellites what kinda LNB's would i need and can i put mult LNBs on 1 dish effectively. I'm also wondering what kinda rotor to get that can search automaticly with the coolsat. I'm pretty much wondering whats the cheapest but most effective way to spend my $. Any general info you have would be great like i said I have only been researching this for a week.

ps.. sorry if you guys have gone over this before but the forums have alot off info, and it can be hard to search through it all... if this subject has been covered just send me a link to the post... thanks :)

Hello and welcome to the SatelliteGuys.US FTA Area!

I would say the SG2100 is the motor to get, you will also need at least a 30" dish ( I like the American made Winegard) Then you will want a Standard KU LNBF, I use the ASC321s LNBF. It would also be an idea to get a DBS (DirecTV/Dishnotwork) LNB for the very few FTA/In The Clear channels. Hope this helps.........

I was also wondering if there are programs to show me what satellite is at which degrees by where i live... my area code is 27358

So if i want to pick up all the sats that i can i have to have 3 different lnb's? are there more than 3 types?

thanks for your help

welcome :wave

I have the Coolsat (see my review in the reviews section) and I really like it. Simple enough for the noobie but advanced enough for the "old pro" :)

There really only is 2 types of LNB's when dealing with a 30" dish
-KU band...this is what most of the stuff is on
-DBS..this will get you the audio channels and a couple channels (NASA, Angel One)

C-Band would be the 3rd, but you need a 10' dish for that :)

I though I needed a "circular" lnb?
