I finally have D*. Everything about the install was top notch. I was scheduled for between 8 & Noon, and the installer called about 7:30 this morning, and was here by 8:30. He was very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. Very happy to get the SWM-LNB & 2 HR23-700's and one standard receiver. All the equipment was obviously brand new. He was here about 2.5 hours, and did a great job. That dish is a big boy, but I'm glad to have it on my roof.

I am VERY impressed with the new system. As everyone says, the Guide/Menu is SLOW, but I am not bothered by it. All of the features more than make up for it. The remote DVR scheduling is very cool (and quickly sent to the receiver), and I have one of the HD DVRs hooked up to the internet already.

But the best thing, I would say, is the picture quality. The HD is truly outstanding, and SD is better than I had with E*.

And the first channel I tuned to...MLBNetHD. :D

Congrats! And good luck.
One Question did D* give you the Hr 23's Or did you still have a lease fee. Just wondering what they are going for.

Thanks - I got the first one free and the second was $99 (AAA deal).

I am ready to switch to DirecTV from Dish now too. DirecTV has all of my locals in HD, DirecTV will have all of the Twins games in HD (Dish only carries it once in a while), and I am pissed off at Dish about the TurboHD mess - pure bait and switch. I am going to purchase an AAA membership right away to get their DirecTV enrollment deal, and will be using a referral deal as well. That saves me some big money!

DirecTV in an RV

Occasional pixilation and sound distortion only on certian channels.
