The first digital camera I used was a Kodak DC40 and the file format was .dcf ( or something like that) that required a special program to read the images off of the camera. The resolution was a little greater than VGA, all for around $800. We used it a work to take pictures for our in-house TV channel.
So it took 20 years for Kodak to get it to market. Look what they started.
