SPECIALS
InFocus: Messages from the Past (4 part series) - Tuesday, June 7 & 14, 10:00pm ET The programs in this series draw on developments in such sciences as medicine, climatology, satellite imaging and metallurgy to offer new answers to old questions. This month we travel to Dora Vira, know as "The Capital of Water," which was a center of trade for Mesopotamia and explore how copper was used in Ancient China.

InFocus: Peking Acrobats - Tuesday, June 21, 9:30pm ET-- PREMIERE Since their debut in 1986, THE PEKING ACROBATS have redefined audience perceptions of Chinese acrobatics. They perform daring maneuvers atop a precarious pagoda of chairs; they are experts at treacherous wire-walking, trick-cycling, precision tumbling, somersaulting and gymnastics. They defy gravity with amazing displays of contortion, flexibility and control. They push the envelope of human possibility with astonishing juggling dexterity and incredible balancing feats, showcasing tremendous skill and ability. They are masters of agility and grace. Often accompanied by live musicians skillfully playing traditional Chinese instruments and high-tech special effects that coalesce with the music and awe-inspiring feats to create an exuberant entertainment event featuring all the excitement and festive pageantry of a Chinese Carnival!

The 50's Were Not So Innocent - Tuesday, June 28, 10:00pm ET-- PREMIERE This hour-long documentary will explore the history of 1950's era Hollywood pin-ups through the shooting of original interviews with former actresses, directors and other cast/crew members, fans and experts of the period, and illustrations via film clips, film trailers, stills, posters and home movies. Instead of a bland piece of dry Hollywood storytelling or, worse yet, some kind of knee-jerk political statement, this documentary will focus upon the incredible sexual prowess that these women were allowed to exhibit during a period in which we usually think of as tame times. Unlike today's explicit hard-core adult films in which everything is revealed, there was something extremely tantalizing about these women from this era and the films in which they appeared.

Youth Court - Lessons in Justice

Are you kidding me? I do not wish anyone to be found in court since it is not a pleasant experience. But this concept of "Youth Court" makes me think why not have "Youth Congress" or "Youth Senate" etc... I mean this concept is completely insane. These are cases very minor who are judged by a Youth Court of their peers. These are not drama but supposely "real cases" -- very minor. If they are so minor why not have the Youth go to a real Court and make them feel what the consequences of their decision can lead to. When are you supposed to learn from your mistakes in a real sense and experience and not this type of "Youth Court" joke. How much law do you think any of these wannabe can know. I did not think we can go so low.
