My Desire came with an Android widget called Power Control that allows you to change settings for wi-fi, bluetooth, GPS, synchronization, and screen brightness. It also came with an HTC widget called Setting that allows you to toggle Airplane Mode, Bluetooth, GPS, Mobile Networiking, and wi-fi.

My Droid has that too.

Good to know these things are on Androids. I've had them on Win Mo for years. If I ever switch to Android, I would miss this stuff. Now I know it keeps some good things from WM. :)

htc does it a bit different from other Win Mo phones but the instant access to toggles is still accessible.

Still hanging on to mine... running the cookie mod on the HTC Sense and love the extra buttons it adds at the bottom that I can configure for hot switches like you guys are talking about and such.

That's the standard power widget. Very very handy. Often I'll be on the road with Google Maps and I need to quickly switch GPS on and off so I don't drain the battery after I'm done using the app.

The new Samsung Fascinate will have the power control widget built into the notification bar. I saw it on a video from Droid-Life. Kind of cool, and it skips the need for a widget using memory.

I just upgraded from the Motorola Backflip to the Samsung Captivate, and it has a 1 click power control for bluetooth, wifi, gps, google sync, and brightness. Also, it has a 1 click panel in the notification panel for Wifi, bluetooth, sound on/off, and vibration on/off

Much improved over the 1.5 Backflip

That is the same thing I was talking about on the new Fascinate.
