Joey Wireless 2.0 Extend Range

The Wireless Joey use standard AC WiFi.
1. You can reposition the access point, extending the cable
2. You may use HIC - see pic below
3. You may try connecting dish wifi "n" adapter to the USB port and use your own wifi router (never tried that, not sure if will work)

I have a Joey Wireless 2.0 and was wondering if/how to extend the range on the unit? I have read the posts here, but my problem is I cannot find the signal using the WiFi analyzer app on Android. It doesn't show up on 2.4 nor 5 Ghz.
Hi- I just got a wireless Joey a couple weeks ago. We have a large ranch home and the range was not good enough to reach from our Hopper to the Joey in the basement.(Despite the Dish rep assuring me it would work.) But I was able to extend the range using this:

Amazon product ASIN B00AWRUICG
Plugged it into the outlet by the hopper, connected the cat5 to the TPlink and then plugged in the second TP link in the room below the hopper. Then I plugged the wireless box into that TP Link box and used the WPS to sync with the joey and it works! My signal strength went from 25% to over 60%.
