I can still hear his famous call signature, "Oh...Doctor!"

RIP

I spent many years in San Diego listening to Jerry Coleman calling the games and telling stories of the old days. At one time Coleman and Dave Campbell were one of the premier baseball radio tandems.

In a related note, I saw Vin Scully was the Grand Master of the Rose Bowl parade. A big honor for him and well deserved.

A very good baseball player,a HOF broadcaster and an even better man. RIP Jerry Coleman.

He could have been a HOF player as well if he didn't sacrifice his career for a greater cause. He was a true patriot. The only player to ever be involved in 2 wars, WWII and Korea.

He was also an excellent broadcaster. One of the best of all time. He didn't get the national recognition because he broadcasted for a small market team, and on the west coast.
