I reported this last year and have searched for it, but the issue remains. I worked all of last year with someone in "Executive Escalations" and he really tried to help out by including the engineering department. But, the hockey season ended, and thus I couldn't test it any more. Hockey is back, and so is the problem. The Fox Sports Network Florida channel is 412, and it is on my favorite channel guide. On any given night, the Panthers game will be on 412-13, or 412-24 or some other 412 sub-channel.
Here is what happens.
1. I will open the guide and scroll down to 412 which has a + sign next to it.
2. Selecting the channel opens the sub-channel up one line below and it will show the hockey game on channel 412-whatever.
3. I will scroll down 1 row on the guide so as to select that channel. Last year I could not do this; the scrolling would skip that line altogether. So, some progress was made, I guess.
4. When I press select, the Fox channel is not tuned. Instead, I will see my local channel 4, which is the very next channel after 412 in my favorites channel list. It's as if the tuner says "Yes Norm, I see channel 412 on the guide (Panthers vs whomever), you want to watch it, scroll to it, select it, Nope. I don't recognize that channel, so I will give you the next one on the list."
5. I have to exit the guide, go back in and re-select 412, and then I can watch the game.
Obviously, I'm curious why this happens, but ultimately, it should not happen and the channel should respond on the first selection. Is it because the game can be on any of the many 412 channels???
DIRT - has this been reported with any other FSN channels? Or any other channel, for that matter?
