Is this normal power off function?

Good thing about this: It presents a more consistent interface across models (big whoop.)

Bad thing about this: Some TVs, such as mine, will power themselves off after x minutes of no signal. But models with this "press select" feature, such as the 721 and ViP622, never stop sending a signal to the TV. So be careful and turn off your TV properly, or you may rack up quite a few hours on that bulb or tube.

It's just so you know receiver is in standby mode as apposed to not having a video problem.

It seems that all it does is give me 2 buttons to push to turn on the receiver, the select and the power button. Has anything changed otherwise? Did it used to power down altogether?
