Is this legal?

Well now for what it's worth, I think that Dish must have changed their rules about this. They turned off one of my receivers, actually turned off all of them, I have/had five. When I called to have them turned back on, they ask about one receiver and since it is the one used in a RV, I was told that I have to open up a different account for the receiver for the RV. All along I thought it was the other way, but they changed their way of doing things lately. After asking for deeper info, they told me it was FCC ruled due to the fact of lobbying cable companies to congress felt that it wasn't fair to cable companies. Go figure. Anyone heard about this change. Wasn't told when the FCC rule changed so it could have been a long time ago and Dish just started enforcing it..........maybe someother explanation would be better but that is all I was told.

What if you just get a receiver that doesnt need a phone line connected to it, then Dish wouldnt know where the reciever is or what is was doing right?? So in Theory I could give a friend or something in another town a receiver and a dish and add him to my account for 5 Dollars??

This is not the first post I have read like this and they just irritate the piss out of me. Why are you concerned about the cost of TV service if you can afford a second home?
I would just think if you can afford a second home that the cost of TV service at that location should be a non-issue. It seems to me if you have to concern yourself with the cost of TV service at your second home that you really can not afford the second home.

It's not about affording a second home....it's Dish Network at one point allowing a receiver for a RV with no problem and now they have shifted their view point. Can't make up their mind, or in other words, change their rules to fit their playing field. When you sign up and tell them you have a RV and they say no problem and then 7 years later they don't want you to use it but get a separate account just to use the RV receiver.......maybe 3 or 4 weeks out of the year total use........sounds to me like they're money hungry instead of wanting to take care of their long term customers.

Wouldn't the rv waiver apply mainly to those that want the network stations out of NY or the other states in which they grant you permission to receive them from? If they do allow those stations then can you keep your locals? Would those channels show up on all of the receivers at your home as well or just the one receiver for the RV?

Is there a "Guide" for Dish DVR?

Why isn't FX in Top 60?
