Is there a Good STB to receive CBS Network (and other 422) feeds?

Maybe you guys are right, the picture on the amazon.ca website shows a dual tuner but nothing in the description mentions "dual tuner". Caviet Emptor!
Likely they messed up posting the image.
The "83" is the newest model so likely has the latest components. Priced for high demand... price will likely fall when they come out with something better (read newer). Been looking at these TBS cards, might have to try one..

Yeah I have been looking real hard at the 6983. :)

Yeah I know! It has been on my watch list for awhile now.

the 6925 (I have 2 of them in service) is a single tuner. the second f connector is for a loop out. the 6983 is a dual tuner. it has no loop out.

Is there a difference between the TBS 6925 and the TBS 6983 cards?
sorry for going :offtopic. One other thing I noticed in the 6983 pictures it has a plastic connector (molex?) that the 6925 doesn't have. see pic I highlighted the connector. tbs6983_3.jpg one of the many complaints about these PCIe cards when they first came on the market was their ability (or lack of) to provide dc power for multiple lnbfs & diseq motors & switches. so I think this connector is to directly connect to the computers power supply to provide more dc power cause the PCIe buss will handle only so much dc current. on the tbs website it does say the card comes with a power cable so that's what I think its for

" Package Contents: 1 x TBS6983 Professional DVB-S2 Dual Tuner PCIe Card
1 x remote control
1 x IR receiver
1 x power cable
1 x Software CD"

No problem scanning and receiving both ABC NewsOne Live1 and ABC NAC CH2 on all AzBox models as far as I know. On the miniMe American Edition, I can even tune and stream either of these two channels to my web browser or VLC player using the receiver's web interface.

Good to hear you can tune and view without issue on the STB.

When you select a channel on the webIF I assume it only sends that one channel? can you tell the webIF to send the entire TP? if so try that, VLC should stop working at that point. At least it does on my setup.

I've been wanting to get a TBS6983 for a bit now, but the price is a little hefty. Probably come spring time I'll get one.

The Quali was from the days before MPEG4. MPEG2 STB. Nice solid legacy receiver. Don't see those on the classifieds too often.

My TBS6983 arrived a few minutes ago as I leave for home to pack for CES 2015. :(

Can't wait for you to do a review on it when you get back.

It always amazes me how we manage to get way more bandwidth over way less data lines than we had in the old days.

Guess Ti's picture answeres the power cable question, definately uses a spare p/s output to power the LNBs etc. Nice to see that.
