Is there a 612c receiver?

The 612c is a converted 622. Fee is same as 612. It is a single tv dual tuner DVR. Just like what the did to get the 512. Took 522s and disabled tv2. Or the 311k. And there is a 211z floating around somewhere I hear. A friend told me.

Unavoidable. But I think they've learned a lesson. I suspect few updates will come out for non ViP receivers. They'll reduce their programming overload shortly.

I agree. It def confuses some. And I think would make s/w development more of a b**** than it may already be.

Not necessarily. The s/w could literally be the exact same but for the stripped-down model, the code for functionality for missing hardware is "turned off".
