It certainly seems so. The guy has had the worst start of his career. If this is the case, the Yankees may need to resurrect or pulled out another one out of the hat because without Mariano, they will not go anywhere. :D
 
Well, he is getting older, not to say he can't make a turn around and get back to his old self but we could see father time catching up to him.

Well he did have some physical ailments at the start of the season. They probably would have been smarter to have let him rest during April. Seems like his cutter isn't cutting at the moment.
 
For a closer he has had a great run, how many other closers in recent history were effective for more than 10 years.
It is time for the Yankees to look for a new closer.
 
This is the yankees single biggest problem IMO. They have the hitting power to put up runs against anybody, but without a closer they are screwed. Mariano has been such a security blanket over the years. An incredible advantage and now its gone. Before now if you werent beating the Yanks by the 7th inning it was over. Now they are vulnerable in the late innings.
