Is it true that through FIOS's website you can put channels where you like them? Like put CNN on channel 1 and ESPN on channel 2? That sounds great! I would switch today, but i need to confirm this is true. I believe Dish Network and Direct TV have this feature, but I just dont like satellite to get american cable channels.

Also is it true you can erase channels you dont get. Lets say you dont subscribe to cinemax, can you erase them so you dont have to flip through that "YOU DO NOT SUBSCRIBE SCREEN".?

The tread you posted mentioned ordering FiOS TV channels and services (HBO, Cinemax, etc.) online vice having to phone in to a call center. To the best of my knowledge, their online ordering is still very limited and difficult to navigate. As far as remapping channels...I know you can create "favorites", but there isn't an option to renumber the channels (that I can find) and I still can't deleted unwanted channels from my lineup.

Just wanted to add...this is what I get when trying to order FiOS TV services through their website:

that sucks! but it especially sucks you cant erase channels. NOw ikknow for a fact that verizon said it would allow you to erase channels with the new epg. And this was over a year ago!

You used to be able to eliminate channels from your guide. With the new IMG, however, you can't. What you CAN do, though, is set up a couple different favorites lists. And you can have the channels flip by those lists. For example, I have a list for just the digital music channels. And when I hit 'guide' only those channels show up. When I surf (do channel up/down) it only goes through those channels.

One other option that they added that I like alot - you can change what the 'Favorites' button does. I have it set so it cycles through my favorites lists. And the best part - the favorite list that I have selected stays selected until I choose another list. Even if I shut off my STB. So if I have my first favorite list selected, even after I shut off my STB, the next time I turn it on, that same list will be selected. This effectively gives you the same functionality of removing channels from your guide.

BTW, I wish they would offer a way to relocate channels. I would set that up in a heartbeat - I'd love to be able to eliminate the SD channels and replace them with their HD equivalents. I could just get rid of the SD channels from my HD TV, but then it makes finding programming more of a pain in the butt.
