My friend has the nfl ticket and wants to bring over his receiver and card to my house to watch a game tomorrow. Will that work? Im a paying customer as well as he is. Thanks

so it wont try to read his serial or access card number as coming from my house? I have a hd non dvr and his is the h20 dvr.

just don't do anything with the card, have him bring his reciever (with card still in it)
Does he have the ST with the HD ?
Do you have a HDTV ?

Hopefully you do, this way you can see what the NFL in HD looks like.

Q. Hey guys, does the ST HD portion require a triple LNB or better set up ?
Hopefully he's got the required set up for the NFL in HD

Correct; just UNPLUG all power cables 1st; BEFORE removing and adding the satellite RG6 cables. You can short out your units if you don't.

Then place his receiver onto the incoming dish/sat cable; attach the A/V connections, no telephone cord; then plug in the power and you are good to go.

There is not two-way communication between the these receivers and satellites; receive only.

The receiver doesn't care or know if you change which dish provides the signal. The only time that comes into play is if you are dealing with a spotbeam and the NFL ST is on the national beam. Just don't plug your receiver into the phone jack when you go there. I believe it is illegal according to the contract to do this, but I won't tell. LOL.

I have a hd recvr and just got a 42" lcd. I watch NFL OTA but dont have the ticket. He does. I have HD programming as well. Ill let you all know if it works. Thanks a lot.

Seeing you have all the HD equipment and the correct diish, you should be good to go.....
Enjoy .....

What games are you interested in, just curious

Chargers!!!!

Living in NY I see too many Jets and Bills games.

Sorry to dissappoint you, but the Chargers are NOT in HD tommorow, thanks to CBS's lack of HD responsibility...
They for some reason get away with only showing 3 games in HD a week.
Hope you have some other games in mind as well.

ST HD channels 719-727 tommorow.

yea, its not so much about the HD but trying to clinch homefield for the playoffs. We will be watching the Ravens game also, whic I dont think is in HD either.

Thanks for the guide.

I am having a problem with setting this up. His box was set to see satellite @ 95 and mine is at 72.5. I set it back up to look at 72.5 and everything seems ok. I am getting signal strength on all the transponders and ran the satellite checklist and everything said OK. Now it is trying to acquire guide data and is just hung up. Any reason for this? Anything I should try?

its so strange, everything looks like it should work. Just cant get any info over the wire.

"Just cant get any info over the wire."

What does this mean?

What MAIN dish model are you using? And is it aimed to see 101 (core programming?

NFL ST is on 101; you will not need to worry about 95 and 72.5

I guess I dont know how to exactly explain it unless you see it. When I hook up the new rcvr, it Dls info from the satellite and gets to 25% and halts for a minute, then without getting to 100%, says,"Acquiring guide data" and just sits there. If I hit menu and check signal strength it sees 101 and all the others its supposed to. I have a triple lnb oval dish. So it sees the satellites and gets a 94% signal. The transponders all seem fine as well, but no video signal seems to be coming thru. As if the rcvr is blocking the signal.

Oh so you are still in the initial setup.

Have you gone into the receiver setup and MANUALLY "told" the receiver to look only for your 3 LNB dish? NOT auto-select.

Initially it found it but was looking for sat 95. I ran the setup manually and changed it to 72.5. It found everything OK and has a signal. But when trying to get the guide info, it just hangs. Plus after setup it asks for zip code to find HD local settings. That hangs also.

You do not need to do anything with the "wing" or "non-standard satellites" . Why are you worrying about those? What am I missing about that? Just do a simple setup for ONLY your PhaseIII dish.
