that thread is what prompted me to get an hdmi receiver with 3 inputs. i was just fine on component, but can see the writing on the wall. not to mention, to have 3 devices and a tv all connected with only 4 cables, thats mint!

Component looks better on my DLP and the same on my LCD.
Bottom line is HDMI is the writing on the wall with HDM, upconverters and soon cable/sat boxes.
