With several hd channels launched or getting ready to launch (ABC Family, Lifetime, Travel, Fox News and several others). Is Direct already maxed out on space??

It was reported eariler this year that was true but Direct came back and said they have enough room to add channels. Did not say how many they could add though.

Now it looks like early Fall (until D11 gets online) will we be able to see another slew of hd channels. I guess when the leaves turn and fall from the trees is when hd will be falling from the sky for Direct.:)

I just wonder have they reached their limits now and cannot add anymore at all at this time.

My guess is they are definitely getting close to being maxed out if they are not already. I really hope they left a spot open for Fox News HD. It would seem kinda silly to not leave room for one of the biggest national channels.

How did they get maxed out so quickly. That was a brand new sat. Is it because D* put less channels on a transponder than E*?
It is probably because Direct has more HD channels, more HD locals in more markets, and more HD sports packages.

Even though Dish has more satellites, remember than many of those birds are just mirroring the same thing for separate east and west feeds (twice the birds to do the same thing). Also, Dish was maxed out until the dropped sky angel.

The answer to the OP's question is NO

Please give me the correct answer.lol

If Direct is not going to carry one of Libertys own channels at its launch (QVC hd). Something has to be up.

There can be a myriad of reasons why certain channels do not go up immediately or ever (this is not as easy as flipping a switch on or off) and the end all answer is not always capacity. There is no immanent capacity issue at this time; that was a year ago.

Why would they waste their time on that crap? I could sit here and debate with you how fox news is just right-wing propaganda, but i'll just stick with pointing out the notion that every bit of important content on fn is all about talk. CNN HD is pretty useless, how is fn hd gonna be any better?

OPINIONS! OPINIONS! OPINIONS! For those who want to debate either their love or pure hatred for Fox News, TAKE IT TO THE PIT. I am losing my patience watching every thread that has anything to do with FNC get hijacked.

Popularity is one of the reasons a provider chooses to include an HD channel in its lineup. Since Fox news is the most popular cable news channels by a very wide margin (often having more viewers in any one hour than all of the other combined), it would make sense that they would include this channel. It is irrelevant if you like it or not; the only relevance is HOW MANY people like it or not. The ratings speak for themselves.

My guess is, until they wake up D11 and test it and are sure it is working they wont add the rest on D10

Think about it, if something is wrong with D11 there money maker NFL HD in MPEG4 would not work as planned. If D11 was bad they need to save room on D10 for the NFL in MPEG4

I bet testing will start in MAY, then they will add the rest to D10

Direct wants to replace my HV 20 with an HV 21!

Can OTA antenna share sat cable into house?
