Is Dish cutting back some of its operations staff?

My Hopper 3 has not gotten an update since 12/11/24 and I used to see a new Hooper3 update at least once a month. Maybe dish is cutting software, firmware, and access card security staff? The only problem I that I have seen with not getting new updates is that my Hopper3 starts to act up (get black screen and delay when changing channels or playing a recorded show, menu navigation slowdowns and hangs for a bit at times) until it gets a new update or I do a manual Hopper reset.

It seem that Dish is no longer doing the free 5-day movie channel previews and is only offering free 1 and 2 month movie trials now that you have to sign up for in perk offers. Best part most of them no longer auto renew at the end of the trial. ( you need to read the offer to make sure it does not auto renew. It will show up in your bill for 2 months at $00 ) So far it just been for Showtime and AMC+ for movie channels.

What what it's worth, I don't recall any pattern where updates caused my Hopper 3 to stop acting up. (But I don't have those symptoms to begin with.)

It's interesting that the 722 was mentioned, because I did used have a lot of black screens with mine. Often right when I turned it on, and I would go through some dance of changing channels, swapping tuners, ... and then the video would eventually come back.

I do remember seeing odd issues with some of the ViP rx's back when they were the new thing, like random reboots or suddenly the screen going all green or locking up (with black screen) and needing hard reset, including on 722, but just not seeing any of that in recent years. Even as these only continue to age.
