I will be getting D* this week. What if you sign up with a local installer? Can you still get the AAA discount? He said he's not familiar with it and to call D* service afterwards.

I'd rather go with this installer since he's got a good reputation. With D*, who knows who you will get.

No one else will be able to assist you with the AAA discount and it would be too late get your discounts after you sign-up. You should call the number above to avoid risk of losing discounts.

You might try requesting your installer by name if he's contracted with DirecTv.
