I currently sub to Netflix and Hulu plus, both work fine but yet I find myself also thinking about another subscription. That is because some of what I'd like to watch isn't available on either of them.

Currently I wanted to watch stargate Atlantis. Only avail on amazon at $3 per episode or $79 for a year sub. The annual sub is the cheapest way to get it, butnid rather have a monthly charge so I could suspend the account on occasion as I do with the other two services. :(

And then ther is the box issue. No one box will do it all! I have an apple tv for iTunes, Netflix and Hulu and my bluray player for amazon and vudu. Kind of a pita if you ask me!

Completely agree with you.I have stated several times, that there should be one box capable of doing it all. Some have came close but no cigar yet.As to Amazon Prime,it's really the best deal overall,it's just the $79 all at once that I don't like. They very briefly, back in November, had a $7.99 per month trial. It lasted all of two weeks before they pulled the plug.

So far I've been really pleased with amazon prime, however I would like them to have the option for cc.

Sorry for some of the typos, I'm on the iPad and not paying close enough attention!

I will most likely sub to prime since any other way to watch all of sgu in hd would cost me much more than the $79 a year of prime would. But I'm not gonna be thrilled about it! :)

Away from the 'no one box fits all' comments.

One thing I've noticed over the years is how much better the quality of the video/audio streams really are these days. I've used many different places to stream from, and it seems like it just gets better and better.

Currently I use iTunes, Hulu Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime (yeah, signed up yesterday f/30 day free trial) and Vudu on a fairly regular basis, and some network specific sites on more rare occasions. Between the AppleTV(3), and the Sony 3D Blu-Ray player I have almost all covered.

Network specific shows unavailable on the subscription services are a bit of a PITA to use since there aren't any devices that cover even the majority of them. In my case, I use my MacBook Pro w/Retina to mirror to the AppleTV. While that isn't the most convenient way to do things, it does work very well. Because it works so well, I've eliminated the need for a DLNA server.

The only thing a DLNA server would offer is the ability to have more than one TV streaming at a time, but that isn't an issue here as my son finds more than enough to watch with the Hopper he has.

One thing that will be nice is being able to reduce my subscription level on Dish to a lower level and just keep HBO/Sho for boxing and original series. That will save some money, though with the streaming subs cost not as much as I would like.
