They are waiting for Apple to officially release their software before releasing the Jailbreak.

Jailbreak will be out today and unlocking will be out on Friday.

Where would one get what he/she needed to jailbreak an iPhone?

No not yet, DONT USE ON 3gs, the hardware is different and they say it will not work.

I updated to 3.0 today on my 3g which I had canceled last month, It was just too slow without 3G and not much better when I used it in Orlando with 3G. so now it is basically a Ipod touch. It still let me update for free and it's much better now. I can still use it with wi-fi, the camera seems faster, safari is quicker, plus the best feature is I can play music or a podcast and then still use other apps such as safari and mail. Maybe if they ever get 3G in my area I might reactivate but for now it seems to run any app as long as I have a wi-fi connection, just no phone. I might jailbreak it later, does anybody know if you can do that without an active sim card?

I updated my wife's 2nd Gen iPod Touch and so far, so good. I was finally able to get a link to my company's Exchange server (that's pretty cool) so I think I won't bother with a notebook on our trip.
