International data plan

I have been looking at Verizon's international data plan for an alternative to cruise ship internet rates and while going ashore in Canada and the Bahamas etc.

My next trip to Canada is listed at $2/day for LTE and the plan extends my 8Gb/month to the international coverage. Seems like a good deal. Has anyone had any experience with this plan?

Found out that this plan does not apply to cruise ship access even when at a port in Canada. Only when on land.

The new plans include free roaming in Canada and mexico
