Hey all!

Here's a simple problem that I'm hoping someone can shed some light on. When I had the 625 receiver, I was given the option to load interactive maps on the weather channel and see my local forecast through a bar at the bottom of the screen. Since I've upgraded to the 722k, I have never seen the option to load the interactive maps. Anyone have any insight as to why this may be?

You can access that anytime on Ch. 100 (or use the DISH button.)

Also, the HD feed for The Weather Channel doesn't give the Interactive option. Just the SD feed.

I have an easy solution to your problem... Get a 922... It has an interactive weather app.

Yeah... $200 + $4 a month for a prettier weather app. Sounds like a good deal.

I'd rather use my HTPC... Far more detailed weather and satellite/radar, on my HDTV.

I agree, that would be a lot of money just for a weather app. But, the way I look at it. The 922 gives you a lot more than that. ( I won't go into specifics here) Most people wouldn't think twice about spending that kind of money going out for the night. (you can drop a hundred bucks in a bar in no time):D I watch my tv every day. I want the best for one of the most used devices in my home....
The 922 is the best receiver Dish currently has. IMO!

No doubt, the 922 is DISH Network's flagship receiver, it's just that different people have different priorities in their lives :) . Hell that HTPC I was talking about I have actually sunk thousands into it over the years. Just threw in a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM (i7 2600K @ 4.3 GHz, 12GB DDR3 1600 RAM, GTX 560 Ti) for about $650. Of course, I do a lot more with it than just watch TV/browse the web, :D .

Anyway... My two 722Ks do like 95% of the things the 922 does, and the other 5% I do on my computer, lol.

Thanks guys! Channel 100 worked perfect.

The news keeps talking about NYC, Boston, the Carolinas, etc. in terms of the hurricane, but nothing about D.C. or Baltimore! I was finally able to check (on my TV...) what to expect.

Personally, I doubt I would ever pay the higher rates to upgrade to the 922. I would also probably do an HTPC before upgrading to that. I just can't justify the cost increase when I believe that cable and satellite are dying mediums...

Why HUB and not Sprout?

Biggest EHD for a 211k?
