i have both scheduled to be set up, because I need comcast internet and directv. i explained to the lady at comcast that when they arrive, D* will already be installed. The setup I wanted was to have another cable outlet installed in a bedroom so I could have the cable modem and directv in the same room. she said that wouldn't be a problem, told me that there would be a $24 wallfish fee. Now i don't know exactly what this wallfish is. I'm renting the house, and I don't want to cause any damage to it, obviously. Is this anything 'risky'? i've heard about problems getting someone that will do a wallfish, but she made a worthless promise that they would send out the right guy.

You might want to get permission from your landlord. Most companies reqiure written permission from the landlord before any additional outlets will be installed. At least that's the way it was when I worked for the cable co. Wallfishing will require holes to be cut or drilled.
