Hi everyone, we currently have 4 receivers connected to a quad lnb and often take our sons receiver to the cottage on weekends where I have another quad dish. Since they are both the same, I do not have to call them every time we move it. I have recently aquired a 205 receiver from a neighbour (he upgraded - no balance) and was wanting to use it for dedicated audio use. If I add a switch (such as the Zinwell ones being dumped on fleabay - not high def ka/ku), will there need to be any channel map changes to the receivers? In other words, will I have to call them when we move the receiver from home ( multiswitch with quad) to the cottage ( quad only )? If we need to call every time, it will not be worthwhile.

Thanks

no you would not need to call them since both LNB's are considered "unstacked"....

stacked are the old single "flashlight" type LNB's or the 2 "beer can" setup. Unstacked is pretty much everything else

You would need to hook the 4 lines from the quad to the 4x8 multiswitch and then hook the receivers from there.

Thanks Ice, I thought maybe the switch had to be programmed into the receivers also, similar to the different dishs.
