Installed a DB2 yesterday...?

I have it facing south to get 10.1 abc signal strength 61-65 no drop outs abc but I am having drop outs on 3.1 cbs signal strength 82-89

If I get a pre-amp will it help ? If so what should I get and where should I mount it.

Get the ant up at the peak of the roof, away from the dish, the roof is blocking the signal and is from the side of the ant.
No need for a amp.

try aiming the antennna in the direction of the towers south is 180 degrees your stations are closer to 140 degrees.

the towers are in several directions and aiming in one direcstion may not be satisfacory for all channels.

is this antenna inside or outside.

you should not have a problem with the yellow stations.

you will need to turn antenna to get these (71 degrees) and the station in red may be an issue with the db-2.

DB2 is a small multi-directional UHF antenna and yeilds a bean width of about 80 degree. Idea for UHF channel 14-69 and use in yellow color code when signal strength is highest and away from refecting structures or low area.

When you set your antenna to red color code at 202* ABC, you will pick up this channel at although its lower signal strength, but does has a hard time for the yellow codes area where most the channels located, Unless you has two antenna points to two difference area or your choice is just like this.

you will need to compromise and aim the antenna more towards 140 degrees. or somewhere in between. you are 5 miles from the towers and signal should be adequate.

ch 10 is being received. interesting...going to try it with my ch 9 here.

The low signal strength on 10.1 is because you are receiving VHF on a UHF ONLY antenna. Add a VHF high antenna to the mix with a VHF/UHF combiner and you can have it all.

Don't bother with a pre-amp, unless you get an urban speciality pre-amp you'll overload your tuner and get no signal at all.

Update on DB2 install

I have the antenna pointing south west now and I can get all these stations(no drop outs).I wasn't getting 22.1 before and I am now It must be coming in the back door... this little antenna works good for $39.
