If the multiswitch is inside, 5 (4 from the dish and 1 for the flexported international dish), if outside, the same amount as you have tuners (2 for each DVR, and 1 for each non-dvr).

2. i'm planning on total of 10 receivers (comb of HD and HD-DVR)

You might want to run 6 for an antenna? I always like to be set for the future.
