I have an installer coming out on Thursday to upgrade our 622+508 system to a Hopper + Super Joey system. The only difficulty I see the installer having is that our existing installation has the two dishes well away from the house with two RG6 cables in buried conduit. I don't think a third cable will fit.

Is it possible to install a Hopper + Super Joey with only two cables from the Dish to the House?

If the node and itegrater are mounted at the dish I believe it would be possible.

I would imagine that you don't want to force the communications between the Hopper and the Super Joey go all the way out to the dish and back.

Could I move the Integrator to the house, put a Tap on the Hopper line (between the Solo Node and the Hopper) and connect the Integrator to the Tap? I think that would keep the MoCA communication within the house.

I think you can do that if we are thinking the same thing. You put the node outside by the Dish and have two cables going into it with only one coming off it. Then the third cable would be the one for the Super Joey. This way you still only have the existing two cables going into the house. Inside the house you would put a Tap in to go out to the Hopper and the Integrator.

My hws/sj install has the node and integrator about 3 feet from the dish. 2 cables go into the house with the Super Joey cable being about 65 feet from there and the HWS about 20 feet from the node and works quite well.

The "well away from the house" part spooks me.

So how did it go? To use just two cables as a tech I'm thinking having the node and integrator both at the dish.... create a triple line down to the node and integrator which loop back into the node's client port.. as long as both lines coming thru the pipe are 3Ghz then it should be no problem to have one to the hopper and another to the SJ. Now depending on how this was mounted at the dish it may not pass inspection but who really cares as long as it works.
