I purchased a brand new Pansat 2700 and connected it to an existing DishPRO dual helical antenna that had been subscribed to dish network.

I followed the instructions in the maual. Scanned both frequencies and got a lot of channels with $in front of each channel. On the non $ sign channels, when I try to open them, I get message that channel is scrambled. Can someone recommend a solution or a post that has already addressed this situation?

Thanks for any help!

I am looking to pick up any programs.
What antenna do you recommend?
Thanks.

Here are a couple of nice lists of what's on the air.
FTAlist
Global-CM
I believe -most- can be received on a 30" dish with an average LNB.
A 36" dish with a lower noise LNB takes you up a rung on the ladder.

Where you are located may be significant.
Northern Canada, Mexico, and islands may be out of prime coverage for some satellites.

Anole... thanks
I am located in the tip of south texas. What do the $ mean on the scanned channels?
thanks.

It means, Dish Network is a subscription service that you won't be able to receive with a FTA receiver. They expect you to pay.
