For those of you in the Sacramento DMA wondering what's up with Dish not broadcasting KTXL Fox 40 in HD yet, here's a note I received from them (within a few hours by the way) when I inquired about how things were going with Dish Network:

"Thanks for your inquiry. We're anxious to be carried in HD by Dish as well and are in discussions with them now. Input to them from their customers may be helpful in speeding the process.

Please let them know how you feel.

Thanks for writing...and watching!

I'd like to suggest to anyone who is inclined, to drop Dish a note asking them to complete the rollout of HD locals in Sacramento by getting KTXL on the air. Fox has as much good HD programming as the other networks (perhaps more based upon your tastes  ) and it's a bummer it's not up yet. I'm not exactly sure which place to send the request to inside of Dish, so if anyone has some ideas about that, please post and we can all go after the same place.

Thanks,

Doug

From the West Coast Regional Director of E*:

The station referred to is the Tribune owned FOX station. We have an
analog (SD) retrans agreement with them. They have not granted us HD
rights at this time. Since Tribune is a large ownership group the
station may not be aware of the ongoing negotiations, but the owners are
negotiating on the station's behalf. We do not have any ETA on
resolution at this time.

Neither D* nor E* have been given retransmission rights from Tribune at this time to carry the HD feed.

Heard back from one of my peeps at E* today. They are still in negotiations with Tribune. My take is that Tribune is asking way too much, especially since even D* hasn't ponied up. Still waiting to hear back from Tribune.

Why does dish schedule soo many different techs/companies?
