Impertinent thoughts

OK, last night on Big Ten Network I caught some of the Ohio State-Michigan game from 1997, and I changed my mind...I don't want them to return to any prominence whatsoever. Watching Clueless Cooper coaching against Lloyd Carr, Charles Woodson dominating our offense, the big house going wild, Stanley Jackson playing like crap, the stupid Michigan fight song four thousand times in one game...it was painful. I hope they stay dormant forever.

It was nice to see Antoine Winfield in our secondary, however. Give me 11 of him on defense any time.

I'll take Antoine in the secondary anytime, as many as it takes, but I would not want him playing the line at ALL. :D

6. They say there are two kinds of cyclists...those who have been hit by a car, and those who will be. Two nights ago I moved from the second group to the first. Ocean avenue in Belmar, I'm moving along pretty good and a guy cuts me off to get into a parking space. Bang. Luckily two EMT's happened to be on the boardwalk and came to me immediately. 911 is called so ambulance, stretcher, neck and back immobilized, emergency room, the whole thing. Final score is no internal damage, no broken bones, seriously sore left arm and left side of my torso (where I apparently hit the car), major road rash on my elbows and shoulders which is absolutely killing me right now but will heal quickly, major contusions in my pelvic region where I apparently hit the handlebars, and mucho damage to my $1,500 bike. Ugh. Hope to stay on track for my next triathlon on August 28.

How are you doing now? I was gone for several days and missed this thread.

Much better, thank you Ramy. Most of the black and blue on my left upper arm and left torso (and left boob!) is gone. Have a feeling I chipped or fractured something in my elbow, though. What I thought was road rash there was actually just pain coming from my elbow when it touches something. Doesn't affect anything I do, but when I touch my elbow in one spot it feels like I'm being stabbed.

Not going back to the doctor, I have two races in the next five weeks and I don't want to be in a sling. If it still hurts after my September 25 race in Delaware I'll have it looked at. :)

So you are going to chance the rest of your career over a couple of races? I suggest going now.

I appreciate your concern, Ramy, but I have been swimming, biking and running last week and it doesn't affect me whatsoever. No pain at all unless I touch the bad spot. I can do push-ups if I wanted to (not a push-up girl, though!), and I can punch a certain person in the face too. :D

Ok. Hope the soft spot gets better soon and your arm too. ;) :D
