Identification required to establish Dish account?

Thanks for the reply. I have no existing account, but would like to establish one. The potential problem is that I don't have any US identification, so I'm asking if any is required to set up an account.

I believe I had to produce a drivers licence and the social security number to get my dish. About the only thing you can do in the US without ID is vote.

You can buy it, but I don't think you can activate it without a ss#.

They used to offer a no credit check service/prepaid thing. I don't know if they still do, but you could do that if they do. I think it was like dish-flex or something.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Looks like I'll be engaging the services of a broker if I can find one (suggestions via PM welcome). We have some strange protectionist laws up here that prevent me from getting SpeedHD or watching Formula 1 in HD. This is probably why there are more than 10 Dish logos on the roofs in my neighbourhood.

paint your dish grey or the color of home to match.

are you planning a self install?

the local installer may have useful advice about setting up a account

Thanks Bob, he's being a little evasive because most of his business is doing the installs for the domestic provider. :)

I am often in Pittsburgh on business - since the company is paying, it's Mitchell's and Rock Bottom every night! Beautiful city you have there, full of friendly folks.

The Bell dish won't get 129 which you need for Dish HD. Search Flex TV here for starting an account.

Speed HD is on both Bell and Shaw :)
As for F1 racing, TSN holds the rights so they have to black it out on Speed

I have an existing dish with the domestic provider's logo that simply needs to be repointed, which a local installer will do for $50.

I bought a Bell system several years ago through a Canadian dealer and the dish came with a Dish 500 logo on it. I had a nice Canadian broker at the time. The crash of the US dollar eventually made that too expensive to maintain, but we miss seeing Canada.

Happy thoughts again

What waterfront any where in the world is a really safe place at night? Have never know of one any where very safe even the Seattle Pier (except maybe the ferry area). :(

When did Bell get Speed HD?

huh thought they had it. Guess I was wrong

Funny how people give Shaw crap about their HD lineup but instead of carrying 3 or 4 of the same Canadian channel in HD Shaw carries sports in HD like BIg10 & SPeed ;)
