If you want it I would attempt to negotiate the price down. Don't forget you can mount your round dish on the Spoon mount (I'm assuming the spoon mount is motorized).
i think if the ku performance on this dish is considerably better than a ku lnb on a prime focus c-band dish or a 1.2 meter offset, i would probably be more interested in it's ku capabilities.
it has been pointed the same direction for at least 2 years that i know of though.
it worries me that its moving parts may be froze up, plus, the face of the dish has rust on it, so it would need to be sanded and painted.
how much do you think it would be worth?
and how much better is its ku performance than a 8' or 10' prime focus with a ku lnb or a large offset?
thanks,
Denny
ALSO... measure across the rim of the dish, and tell us what you find.
AND, take a magnet, and touch it to the dish.
I'm sure these two tests will give you quite the education.
... Anole, you were absolutely correct, it measures 8' 6" and is aluminum.
turns out that my other so called 8' mesh dishes are actually closer to 7' 6"
Phlatwound has one of the few operational Spoons I know of.
However, from all I've read, I wouldn't go out and look for one.
What you might do, if the regular white Birdview 8½' is on a fixed mount, is to shag the motorized mount off the Spoon.
Assuming it has one.
Everything should all bolt together.
I'd much rather have the standard 8½' BV on a motor, than any Spoon.
